Atlanta-based ASP Global extends its global sourcing of medical supplies and hospital supply chain business into the $53 billion home health and hospice market.

Atlanta, GAASP Global an industry leader in global sourcing of hospital medical supplies, has acquired Jacksonville, FL based InHome Medical Solutions, a leading wholesale medical products distribution company serving physicians, home health and hospice providers.

ASP Global works with healthcare systems including hospitals, IDNs and large group practices to build and integrate global sourcing models into their hospital supply chains. ASP Global has implemented global sourcing initiatives for various healthcare providers saving clients over 30 percent or more on consumable medical products.

“Making InHome Medical Solutions part of the ASP Global family of companies expands our distribution capabilities and advances our mission of supporting the full continuum of care in any setting: hospitals, IDNs, home health, hospice and group practices,” said Lorne Tritt, CEO of ASP Global.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, Medicare hospice and home health reimbursement is expected to reach $53 billion in 2020, a more than 60 percent increase over 2011 levels.

“More care is being pushed out of the hospital and into ambulatory settings including hospice and home health,” said Todd LaVelle, InHome CEO. “Yet too many home care and hospice nurses are still picking up supplies at some centralized location, which is not where their patients are located.

“More home care and hospice providers can now access a wider array of high quality, lower cost medical products quickly delivered directly to the point-of-care through the combined forces of ASP Global, Tiger Medical Group and InHome Medical. This new relationship expands our collective capability of positively impacting quality of care across the continuum.”

LaVelle will be staying on to run the business unit which will be the Non-Acute division of ASP Global. InHome utilizes five U.S. distribution centers to provide one-to-two business day delivery to 96% of the country. InHome Medical Solutions’ technology platform enables clinicians to easily order and track supplies and then receive them precisely where they are needed to expedite care.
