Within healthcare’s shift from fee-for-service to value-based care, any functions within the continuum yet to be affected will find that changing soon. Purchasing and supply chain managers, as well as the CFOs to whom they report, are learning quickly that they must make their own contribution to the value proposition where value equals outcomes divided by costs.
Those accomplishing this most successfully, like Banner Health, are doing so by integrating global sourcing into their supply chains improving the quality and clinical utility of common, commoditized hospital products while simultaneously reducing the cost of those items. We like to think this is why our CEO Lorne Tritt and Director of Sales Ryan Canavan have been invited to contribute to the upcoming Medical Device and Strategic Accounts Conference September 12 and 13 in Atlanta.
According to the organizers, “Nearly 40 speakers from the medical device industry, IDNs, GPOs, ACOs, legal practice, and academia will come together to deliver insights into the most recent trends to optimize medical technology contracting and pricing through over 30 sessions across 2 days. In addition to the high-level learning experience, participants will benefit from many networking platforms & peer-to-peer education throughout the program.”
On Tuesday, September 13 at 1:00 p.m., Ryan will be contributing to a roundtable on how to remain competitive for small to midsize device manufacturers alongside representatives from Flexicare, CooperSurgical and Augustine Temperature Management. Immediately following that panel at 1:45 p.m., Lorne will deliver a narrative case study on global sourcing’s capability to deliver quality improvements and cost savings for device makers and healthcare providers alike.
You can download the conference program in its entirety here.
We are also looking forward to hearing from Cindy Christofanelli, director of supply chain management for SSM Health, who will be providing insights on patient value delivery through manufacturer relationships from the IDN perspective. That session is at 1:30 on September 12. At the same time, representatives from Christus Health, Memorialcare Health System and Emory University Hospitals will discuss cost control and quality from each of their own unique IDN perspectives. We’ll have to be in two places at once!
